How do medications treat cerebral palsy?

Medication can be used in conjunction with other treatment options, such as physical and occupational therapy, to help someone with cerebral palsy. Muscle relaxers are sometimes used to help loosen stiff muscles and relieve pain associated with stiffness. Botox can be used to relieve stiff muscles as well. Other medications may also be used to treat seizures caused by cerebral palsy.
