How does Aricept interact with other medications or foods?

Aricept (donepezil) interacts with a number of different types of medications by increasing or decreasing the effects. For example, drugs that may be affected by Aricept include: certain types of anesthetics, antispasmodic drugs (propantheline or dicyclomine), quinidine, ketoconazole, phenobarbital, rifampin, carbamazepine, ipratroprium, bethanechol, dexamethasone and phenytoin. Additionally, medications for the following conditions may interact with Aricept: glaucoma, irritable bowel syndrome, myasthenia gravis, Parkinson's disease, motion sickness, urinary problems and ulcers. There are no foods that are currently known to interact with Aricept.
