Can cancer be caused by industrial waste poisoning?

Continued exposure to some toxins after industrial waste poisoning has been shown to be linked to certain forms of cancer. Many of these toxic chemical waste products are known carcinogens (meaning that they cause cancer). For example, exposure to benzene can cause leukemia. Exposure to vinyl chloride causes an increased risk of certain types of cancer, including lung, liver, blood, and brain cancers.
