How is iliopsoas bursitis treated?

Bursitis is treated first with rest, anti-inflammatory medications, physical therapy and possibly therapeutic ultrasound. If symptoms persist, some relief may be achieved with injections of local anesthetics, corticosteroids or both. In some cases, your doctor may advise aspirating the fluid from the inflamed bursa with a needle.
