When taking bupropion follow your doctor's orders exactly. The initial dose of bupropion is going to be lower than the maintenance doses of bupropion. When a person first starts this treatment, depression may worsen. The process requires careful monitoring. Your doctor will increase your dosage in steps until the maintenance dose is reached. You can take the drug either with or without food.
