What changes in my body might I notice after I start breastfeeding?

As your milk supply increases within two to five days after birth, you should notice a sense of fullness in your breasts before feeding. You also may notice:
  • Your breasts are softer after a feeding;
  • A tightening or tingling in the breast as your milk releases;
  • Feeling relaxed and sleepy during feeding;
  • Possible leaking from one breast while the baby feeds from the other;
  • Possible uterine cramps within the first few weeks.
