Is there a cure for hypokalemia?

Hypokalemia is rarely serious, but if left untreated, it can be life threatening. This condition usually resolves after potassium supplementation. If there is an underlying health problem causing the hypokalemia, such as too much thyroid hormone in the blood, that condition will need to be treated.
