What is the rate of incidence for bladder cancer?

The American Cancer Society reported in 2009 that there were nearly 71,000 new cases of bladder cancer per year and over 14,000 deaths from the disease. The rate of incidence shows that almost four times as many men than women are diagnosed with bladder cancer. For men, it is among the top five most common cancers. In those who have bladder cancer, about 90 percent are older than 55.
