How should I manage spinal pain?

The following are some suggestions to help you manage spinal pain:
  • Ask your doctor about taking an over-the-counter pain reliever such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) or naproxen (Aleve).
  • Continue your daily activities unless the pain worsens.
  • Get a thorough evaluation of your pain and a complete physical assessment.
  • Ask about appropriate exercises to do in addition to any medication that may be prescribed.
