Can I get avian flu from eating poultry?

As long as the poultry is prepared and cooked properly, it does not pose a risk. Handle raw poultry and eggs carefully, wash your hands and any surfaces that contact the raw poultry, and cook the poultry to 74 degrees C (165 degrees F). Raw or undercooked eggs should not be consumed.
