What causes Marcus Gunn Jaw Winking of my child's eyelids when she eats?

The condition is due to a miswiring anomaly in which the muscles that are activated while your child feeds from a bottle also send a signal to the muscle that opens the upper eyelid. Thus when she feeds from the bottle, the upper eyelid can be seen to move upward and downward. While the condition can occasionally be seen in family members, most affected patients have no relatives with the condition. Also, the condition is usually not associated with other abnormalities.
