Does taking an aspirin a day pose any health risks?

While daily aspirin can reduce the potential for heart attacks, it can pose problems for some people. For instance, some people are allergic to aspirin and they should avoid it. People with bleeding ulcers should avoid aspirin because it can cause uncontrolled internal bleeding.

Aspirin also can interfere with some medications, can cause stomachaches and other gastrointestinal problems, and, in high doses can sometimes even cause ringing in your ears.
