Who should take Harvoni?

Harvoni (ledipasvir and sofosbuvir) is approved for use in people who have chronic hepatitis C infection. There are several different types of hepatitis C virus, called genotypes. Harvoni is approved for those who have genotypes 1, 4, 5 or 6. It isn't yet known if Harvoni is safe and effective for children under age 18.

Harvoni is an option for people with chronic hepatitis C infection. It is approved for adults only. Because hepatitis C causes progressive liver damage, treatment as soon as possible is recommended for most adults. Only your doctor can determine whether Harvoni is an appropriate treatment.
