Can Hycamtin capsules cause a decrease in your blood cells?

Hycamtin capsules contain topotecan, a type of cancer treatment medication that can cause a decrease in the number of your blood cells. If you already have a low number of blood cells made by your bone marrow, you may not be able to take topotecan medication, as it may increase your risk of infection. If you have any concerns about your blood cell count or risk of infection, talk with your doctor about how to best monitor your levels.
