When should I take almotriptan?

You should take almotriptan as soon as you begin having symptoms of a migraine headache. This medication will not prevent migraines. After you take the first pill, you may take another one after 2 hours if your symptoms improved and then get worse again during that time. You should not take another one if you symptoms did not improve at all during those 2 hours. Call your doctor if this happens to you. It may not be safe to take almotriptan for more than 4 headaches within 30 days. Contact your doctor if your migraines are coming this frequently.
