What should I know about D.H.E. 45?

D.H.E. 45 is not usually a preventative measure against migraine headaches. This drug is often used only after the onset of a headache, and should not be used more than three times in a 24 hour period if injecting into a muscle or under the skin. If administered intravenously, it should not be used more than twice in a 24 hour period. You should not take D.H.E. 45 if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding. Carefully follow the directions of your doctor concerning D.H.E. 45, since overdose can lead to severe complications.
