What should I tell my pharmacist before taking ergotamine and caffeine?

Before taking ergotamine and caffeine, tell your pharmacist if you're allergic to any drugs. List all medications you take, including dietary supplements. It's extremely important to tell your pharmacist  if you take antibiotics such as erythromycin, HIV protease inhibitors such as ritonavir, and antifungal drugs such as ketoconazole and itraconazole. Combining ergotamine and caffeine with these drugs could cause serious harm. You may need to adjust your dose of some other medications, such as antidepressants or asthma and cold medicines. Also, tell your pharmacist if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, any type of blood infection, kidney or liver disease, or if you are pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding.
