Who should take Cartia XT (diltiazem)?

Cartia XT is approved for the treatment of high blood pressure and angina, a chest pain that occurs when the heart is not getting enough oxygenated blood. It may be used alone, or your doctor may prescribe it with one or more other drugs to treat one or both of these conditions. Cartia XT should be taken as directed by your doctor.
