Who should not take Avalide?

Some groups of people should not take Avalide, or should ask their doctor first. Pregnant women should avoid taking this medication because it can be harmful or deadly for a fetus. If you are taking Avalide and become pregnant, stop taking it and notify your doctor right away. People who have allergies to sulfa drugs should not take Avalide. Also, people who have difficulty urinating should not take it. Do not take Avalide or ask your doctor if you have diabetes, liver or kidney disease, lupus, gout, or erythematosis.
