Who should not receive Cardene IV (nicardipine)?

People with advanced or severe aortic stenosis and those who are allergic to any of the drug's ingredients should not receive Cardene IV (nicardipine). Women who are breastfeeding or pregnant should avoid this drug as well. If you have a history of: stroke, lung problems connected with heart attack, heart valve narrowing, other heart problems such as congestive heart failure, chest pain, low blood pressure, liver problems, pheochromocytoma, or kidney problems, your condition may be complicated by use of Cardene IV. Talk about the risks with your doctor.
