When should I call my doctor if I am taking Avapro?

While you're taking the blood pressure medication Avapro (irbesartan), call your doctor or 911 immediately if you experience any of these side effects:
  • swelling of your face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles or lower legs
  • hoarseness
  • problems swallowing
  • trouble breathing
Call your doctor if you discover you're pregnant while you're taking Avapro. This drug carries a boxed warning that it can be harmful, and even fatal, to a developing fetus.

Both your doctor and your pharmacist can answer any other questions or concerns that come up while you're taking Avapro.
