What are the side effects of labetalol?

Many of the more dangerous side effects of labetalol involve an unintended reaction from the heart and circulatory system. These include: a slow or irregular heartbeat, lightheadedness and coldness in the extremities. Other potentially serious side effects include: problems breathing, swelling in the ankles or feet, nausea, fever, lack of appetite, discolored urine and stool, jaundice, weakness, chest pain, sweating and mental or mood changes such as depression. If you experience any of these side effects, contact your doctor. Less serious side effects include: belching, heartburn, sour stomach, headaches and rash. Labetalol may also diminish libido, cause anxiety and induce insomnia.
