What should seniors know before taking Cozaar?

If you're a senior, you should know that being older does not in itself appear to be a factor in whether your doctor can safely prescribe the blood pressure medication Cozaar (losartan) for you. Research has not indicated that older people respond differently to this medication from how others do.

However, the risk for side effects from Cozaar increases if you're also taking certain other medications or if you have certain medical conditions. Before you start taking this drug, give your doctor a complete medical history and tell him or her about all your other medications (prescription or over-the-counter) as well as any supplements you take.
