What is Corzide?

Corzide, a prescription medication that treats hypertension, is a combination of nadolol and bendroflumethiazide. Nadolol is a beta blocker that lowers blood pressure by decreasing heart rate. Bendroflumethiazide is a diuretic that rids the body of excess fluid and sodium, which enhances the effectiveness of nadolol. By lowering blood pressure, the two medications help reduce the heart's workload. This helps lower the risk for heart attack, stroke and kidney failure. Corzide is available as a tablet. While Corzide does not cure high blood pressure, it does help control it.
