Can Teveten interact with other medications?

The blood pressure drug Teveten (eprosartan) can interact with certain other medications. Some combinations can make Teveten less effective at reducing blood pressure, while others can increase the risk for side effects. Drugs that may interact with Teveten include:
  • nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen, naproxen and celecoxib
  • diuretics (known as water pills)
  • potassium supplements or salt substitutes that contain potassium
  • lithium
Before taking Teveten, tell your doctor about all your other medications (prescription or non-prescription), as well as any vitamins and supplements that you are taking. Once you're on Teveten, don't start a new drug or supplement before talking with your doctor.
