What is Atacand?

Atacand (candesartan) is a medication used to treat high blood pressure. It is also sometimes prescribed to people with heart failure, and can be used to treat kidney disease in people with diabetes. Atacand is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). These medications help lower blood pressure by interfering with chemicals that constrict blood vessels, which allows blood to flow more smoothly.
