What is amlodipine/benazepril?

Amlodipine/benazepril (available under the brand name Lotrel) is a prescription drug used to treat hypertension. This is a combination of two drugs, amlodipine and benazepril (calcium channel blocker/ ACE inhibitor). When the use of either one of these drugs alone does not result in improvement in hypertension, amlodipine/benazepril may be prescribed. It works by relaxing blood vessels and lowering blood pressure.
