What are the side effects of guanabenz?

Common side effects of guanabenz include: drowsiness, dizziness, headaches, weakness, upset stomach, dry mouth, decreased sexual ability, fatigue or constipation. Some side effects of guanabenz are serious. Call your doctor right away if you experience the following: decreased or increased heart rate; fainting; irregular heartbeat; swelling of the feet or ankles; inability to have sex; pounding heartbeat. Some people might have an allergic reaction to guanabenz. Seek emergency medical treatment immediately if you have any of the symptoms of an allergic reaction to guanabenz: hives, rash, difficulty breathing, chest tightness or swelling of the lips, eyes, face, throat, mouth or tongue.
