Who should not take aliskiren and hydrochlorothiazide tablets?

Pregnant women should not take this medication, because it can cause birth defects, complications and even the death of a developing fetus. Nursing mothers should either not take this medication or not breastfeed the infant when using this medication. Aliskiren-hydrochlorothiazide should be avoided by people with severe liver or kidney problems, who are unable to urinate and those with a history of angioedema.
