Does nifedipine have a different effect on elderly versus younger adults?

Some nifedipine side effects can be more pronounced in the elderly than in younger adults. Because of this doctors may not recommend nifedipine for elderly patients with heart, liver or kidney problems, or may prescribe a lower dose. If you are elderly, be sure to talk with your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking nifedipine.
