If you experience lightheadedness or fainting while taking Micardis HCT, talk to your doctor to make sure it is not a sign of serious side effects. Micardis HCT might make you feel run down for a few weeks after you start taking it. This is normal and not a cause for concern. Continue taking your medication, but talk to your doctor about any new side effects that develop. You should avoid drinking alcohol while taking Micardis HCT. Do not drive or do other dangerous tasks until you know how Micardis HCT will affect you.
- if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant or breastfeeding
- if you have diabetes, gout, asthma, high blood cholesterol or triglycerides, heart problems, kidney, liver or gall bladder problems, a parathyroid gland problem or lupus
- if you have abnormal blood electrolyte levels, or if you have low blood volume or suffer from dehydration
- if you recently had nerve surgery
