What should I know about Cozaar before taking it?

Before taking Cozaar, you should know that this drug is not suitable for pregnant women or women attempting to get pregnant. If you are pregnant, it may harm your fetus. Cozaar's effects on nursing babies are currently unknown, so talk to your doctor before starting Cozaar if you plan to breastfeed. Cozaar may cause a significant drop in blood pressure. If you begin feeling faint, find a place to lie down and contact your physician immediately. Cozaar may also cause more severe kidney issues in people who already suffer from kidney conditions.  Do not drive, operate machinery, or participate in any activities that require mental alertness until you know how the medication affects you.  Avoid salt substitutes unless advised otherwise by your physician.
