If I am pregnant, is it safe to use Teveten HCT?

It is not safe to take Teveten HCT (eprosartan and hydrochlorothiazide) during pregnancy. Taking this prescription drug for high blood pressure may cause birth defects and affect kidney function in the developing fetus, leading to serious injury or causing death. The risk is greatest after the first trimester.

If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, speak to your doctor before taking Teveten HCT. If you are taking the drug and become pregnant, call your doctor immediately.
