How does Edarbi work to treat high blood pressure?

Edarbi (azilsartan) lowers high blood pressure by blocking angiotensin II, a hormone in your body that normally causes your blood vessels to constrict, raising blood pressure.

If you have high blood pressure, taking Edarbi alone or in combination with one or more other drugs allows your blood vessels to relax, improving blood flow and reducing your risk of stroke and heart attack.
