How do I take Cardene SR?

Cardene SR is a capsule that is used to treat high blood pressure. This version of Cardene is a sustained-release formulation of the drug also known by its generic name, nicardipine hydrochloride. Swallow the Cardene SR capsule whole; never chew or crush it, or you may interfere with the capsule's intended ability to slowly release medication. Never stop taking Cardene without consulting your doctor. Avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while taking Cardene, because these can alter the drug's normal action.
