How does Diovan HCT interact with other medications or food?

You should not take other medications with Diovan HCT unless you consult with your doctor, especially salt substitutes containing potassium or potassium supplements, since they can change the body's levels of blood potassium. This also includes over-the-counter medications that might be likely to increase blood pressure. Also, consult your doctor about consuming alcoholic drinks, since they might worsen a low blood pressure effect, as well as increase the likelihood of becoming dizzy or fainting. Hydrochlorothiazide, an ingredient in Diovan HCT, might cause your skin to become more reactive to sunlight, so you may need to protect your skin from the sun.
