Does Avalide interact with other medications or foods?

You should make a list of all medications you currently take and give it to your doctor before taking Avalide. Avalide interacts with following medications:

•Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH)
• Barbiturates such as phenobarbital and secobarbital
• Cholestyramine
• Colestipol
• Lithium
• Narcotic painkillers, including codeine phosphate, meperidine hydrochloride, and oxycodone hydrochloride
• Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen and naproxen
• Steroids such as prednisone. 
• Oral diabetes drugs

Taking Avalide with these drugs may alter the drug's effectiveness.
