How does Xalatan interact with other medications or foods?

Xalatan can interact with other eye drops, if used at the same time as eye drops that contain the preservative thimerosal, solid particles can form in the eye. Wait at least five minutes after using Xalatan before adding other eye drops to prevent these problems. Xalatan (latanoprost) also interacts adversely with bimatoprost, a similar eye drop that is also used to lower the pressure within the eye (Lumigan) and to grow eyelashes (Latisse). Combining the two drugs reduces their effectiveness, and it may even cause the pressure to increase. Do not take Xalatan with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) eye drops, because NSAID drops decrease the effectiveness of Xalatan eye drops.
