How soon after taking dorzolamide and timolol will my symptoms improve?

Ocular hypertension and open-angle glaucoma often have no warning symptoms except gradual loss of vision. Once vision is lost, it cannot be restored, so dorzolamide and timolol cannot reverse this symptom.

However, lowering eye pressure with dorzolamide and timolol may prevent additional loss of sight, and in some cases, this drug can prevent vision loss if glaucoma is caught early.

Since you cannot detect your response to treatment, regular checkups with your doctor will be the only way you will know if dorzolamide and timolol is working for you. Your doctor will work out a follow-up schedule with you to check the pressure in your eyes.
