What should I know about Betimol before taking it?

You may not be able to use Betimol if you are using another beta blocker eye drop (like betaxolol) or have certain conditions, including: COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder), a history of asthma, shock caused by severe heart problems, a slow heartbeat, heart blockage or heart failure. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you may not be able to use this drug. Also, tell your doctor if you have low blood sugar, blood vessel or muscle problems or an overactive thyroid. These conditions also may impact your ability to use Betimol. If you are diabetic, using Betimol may hide certain symptoms of low blood sugar, such as a fast heartbeat. You may need to be more vigilant about checking your blood sugar levels while using Betimol. You also may not be able to use this drug if you have an eye injury or infection, double vision, a drooping eyelid or narrow angle glaucoma.
