Who should not use timolol maleate ophthalmic solution?

Timolol maleate ophthalmic solution should not be used by anyone who is allergic to it or any of its ingredients. Use caution and always consult with your doctor if you suffer from lung diseases, such as asthma or emphysema, or have heart disease. It is not known how timolol maleate ophthalmic solution could affect an unborn baby, so it is important to weigh the benefits with your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.  Do not take timolol maleate ophthalmic solution if you are breastfeeding since it has been shown to pass through breast milk. Timolol maleate ophthalmic solution is not recommended for children under two years of age.
