Risks associated with taking Lumigan include a permanent pigment change in and around the eye. Lumigan can change the color of the iris by adding more brown pigment. It also may permanently stain lashes and the skin around the eye. Lumigan also is known to increase lash length. While taking Lumigan there is a risk that the eyedropper or medication itself may be contaminated with bacteria. Even slight contamination can lead to a bacterial infection in the eye, such as bacterial keratitis, which can cause blindness.
