Butoconazole nitrate is an antifungal medication used as a treatment for vaginal yeast infections. Available as a cream, butoconazole nitrate is inserted directly into the vagina using a special applicator. Butoconazole nitrate is believed to work by inhibiting the growth of fungal cells. The brand name for butoconazole nitrate is Gynazole-1. There is currently no generic form of butoconazole nitrate available.
