What are the side effects of posaconazole?

Common side effects of posaconazole include: headaches, exhaustion, joint or muscle pain, insomnia, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain and skin rash. Posaconazole also can cause serious side effects, including allergic reaction. If you experience signs of an allergic reaction, such as swelling, hives and difficulty breathing, get immediate medical help.

You should talk to your doctor if you experience any of these serious side effects: pale skin, bruising and bleeding; fever, chills and other flu-like symptoms; irregular heartbeats; numbness or tingling sensation near your mouth; overactive reflexes; extreme thirst and increased urination; leg muscle discomfort or weakness; swelling of your ankles or feet; nausea accompanied by a loss of appetite and darkening of urine and stools; and high blood pressure. Posaconazole may cause other side effects as well. If you experience an unusual reaction while taking posaconazole, talk to your doctor.
