Oxiconazole (Oxistat), a skin lotion or cream prescribed to treat fungal infections such as ringworm, does not usually cause any serious side effects. However, you should inform your doctor if your skin becomes severely irritated, red, dry, flaky, or itchy, or if it burns, tingles, blisters, or peels badly. Tell your doctor right away if you develop a rash, swelling, pain, or open sores.
