What are the side effects of Flucytosine?

Flucytosine may cause side effects, but they are more likely to be less serious. If they do occur, keep taking the medicine. Tell your doctor if you develop:

  • Allergic reactions. This includes hives, breathing problems and swelling and closing of the throat
  • Chest pain
  • Yellow skin or eyes
  • Little or no urine
  • Confusion
  • Hallucinations
  • Numbness or tingling
  • Hearing loss

If more serious side effects occur, stop taking the medicine. You should quickly contact your doctor about: (list)

  • Decreased appetite
  • Diarrhea
  • Dry mouth
