What should I know about intraconazole injection before receiving it?

Before receiving itraconazole injection, tell your doctor if you are allergic to itraconazole or other azole antifungals, fluconazole or ketoconazole. You should not receive this drug if you are taking ergot medicines, dofetilide, nisoldipine, pimozide, quinidine, lovastatin, midazolam, simvastatin or triazolam. Tell your doctor your medical history before receiving itraconazole injection, especially if you have chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), congestive heart failure, cystic fibrosis, heart disease, heart disorders, kidney disease, liver disease, long QT syndrome, respiratory problems or if you have had a stroke. Itraconazole injection may pose a risk to a developing fetus. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding.
