No. Amphotericin B is used only to fight very serious, life-threatening fungal infections. This drug is not prescribed for patients with a normal immune system that can fight off minor infections. Your doctor will prescribe something with fewer side effects for less serious fungal infections of the mouth, throat or vagina.
