How should I use nystatin ointment or powder?

You should use nystatin ointment, cream and powder exactly as directed by your doctor. Typically, this will be a few times a day.
Always gently clean and dry the area to be treated. If the infection is on your face, be careful not to get any cream or ointment in or around your eyes. For all other skin areas, massage a small amount of cream or ointment into your skin. If you use the powder for a foot infection, sprinkle some it on your feet, into your socks and inside your shoes.
