Can fluconazole be used for other medical conditions?

Fluconazole can treat other conditions, too. These include serious fungal infections that start in the lungs and spread through the body. The medicine may be used for fungal infections of the eye, prostate, skin and nails. Fluconazole prevents fungal infections in people with greater chances of becoming infected. This includes those with cancer or human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Men and women who have had transplant operations also are at risk.
